Main coursework

Well, I know this blog is only to show the work we do and our development, but I also think it is important to show your thought process. Mine is such; I'm not very motivated in the world of film making or research but there is something which has intrigued me. Why not make my film a fictional biography? Make myself into a fictional character and base my 2 minute introduction on that. The story board will be up soon. All this takes is someone to help with the basic "hold camera, point it there" sort of thing, and a simple plan of what would be a normal day for this person. I will still base it in Parkwood sixth form and make my character a student. It will include a monologue, breaking the theatrical 'fourth wall' so that the character is talking directly to the audience/ viewers. Will have to watch a few films where they show either this type of genre or at least one scene with this technique within it. I have watched a few films where this is evident, if sometimes a little misleading. Such as the introduction to the film Sucker Punch, the introduction is a girl sitting in a room talking to herself but the viewers at the same time. Also, in a different context, Lion King Three has this idea within it, as Timon the Meerkat and Pumba the Warthog are using each other as viewers of their own story which is in the style of a cinema film, but both (mainly Timon) share the role of narrator throughout this telling of their own stories. So if I do end up deciding for the opening two minutes to be narrated, it's obvious I will have to film without sound, but rather just put a soundtrack over it and then someones voice (hopefully not my own, I find it to be rather irritating) and put that at a louder volume to the underlying soundtrack. I have managed to convince a local band, whose bassist is a good friend of mine to help produce a one off song for these two minutes. If it's possible, I will try to get the audio track uploaded as soon as it's ready. This will be independent, as I am liable to drag any partners down due to the fact my study and working style is very unconventional as I just go with the flow, and this will not help anyone who is working with me.
